Privacy
Your privacy is important to us.
At Knome, we believe trust is built on transparency. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we protect it, and the choices you have regarding your information.
Knome RE (“we”, “us”, “our”) is operated by Danni Nelson, trading as Knome RE, and this Policy applies across our buyers agency services and the Knome software platform as it develops. It covers clients, prospective clients, website visitors and anyone else we deal with in the course of business.
We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
We only collect information we need to provide our services or meet our legal obligations.
We respect your privacy and are committed to handling your information responsibly, securely and transparently. Protecting your personal information is an important part of the service we provide every client.
To provide buyer representation services and meet our legal obligations, we collect:
Most of this comes directly from you, through our website, email, phone, video calls or in person. Occasionally, it comes from a broker, conveyancer or other professional acting on your behalf.
We use this information to:
We may use trusted AI tools to assist with administrative tasks such as drafting documents, improving workflows or preparing communications. These tools do not make decisions about you or your engagement with Knome. All important decisions are made by a member of our team.
When you use a free property tool we collect the address you enter. The report itself is free and appears on screen whether you give us anything else or not. If you ask us to email you a copy, we also collect your name and email address, and you tick a box agreeing that we can contact you about that property, including the paid reports and services that go with it. That last part is direct marketing, so every one of those emails identifies Knome and carries a way to unsubscribe.
Our occasional property insights and market notes are a separate list. We only add you if you tick that second box, ticking it is never required to receive your report, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
Payment for the What To Offer Report is taken by Stripe, our payment processor, on a page Stripe hosts. Knome never sees or stores your card details. Stripe passes us the name, email, phone number and property address you give at checkout, and we use them to prepare the report, deliver it, and answer your questions about it.
This website uses cookies, pixels and similar technologies. They come in two kinds and we treat them differently:
You can turn advertising cookies off in the banner when it appears, or at any time afterwards using the Cookie settings link at the foot of any page. Your browser can clear or block cookies as well. Turning them off costs you nothing here: every tool, report and page on this site works the same either way.
If you are visiting from the United Kingdom or the European Union, none of the above runs until you accept it, and the banner will ask you before anything measures you.
We do not pass your name, email or phone number to any of these tools. When you carry a property address from a free report through to another page, we strip that address out of the web address before any tag can read it, so no advertising network learns which property you are looking at.
We share personal information only where it is needed to deliver our services or meet our legal obligations. This may include:
We never sell your personal information.
We take the security of your personal information seriously:
Where your information is stored: the personal information Knome holds is stored in Australia. We check that a provider can keep data onshore before we adopt it, and we keep it that way as our systems grow.
Two things sit outside that, and neither of them is information we hold. The first is your card payment. Payment for the What To Offer Report is taken by Stripe on a page Stripe hosts, and Stripe is an international payment provider that may store or process what you enter there outside Australia, under its own privacy policy. Knome never sees or stores your card details.
The second is the measurement, cookie, pixel and session recording information described above. Google, Meta, Microsoft and Vercel collect that on their own systems, which are outside Australia, and hold it under their own privacy policies. It does not carry your name, email or phone number, and you can stop the advertising half of it at any time using the Cookie settings link at the foot of any page.
Our AML/CTF obligations require us to keep customer due diligence and transaction records for 7 years. We hold other personal information only for as long as it is needed, or as the law requires.
You can ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you at any time. To do this, or to raise a concern about how we have handled your information, contact our Privacy Officer using the details below.
We will acknowledge your enquiry promptly and aim to resolve it within a reasonable timeframe. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can take your complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC):
We may update this Policy from time to time. The most current version is always available on our website.
